RYAN S.
Ryan was born in 1991 and shortly
after his birth was diagnosed with complex congenital heart defects. He had a
Pulmonary Banding surgery done in 1/92 to prepare him for a Double Arterial
Switch surgery. He had that surgery when he was 2 years old at the Cleveland
Clinic. In April 1997 he had to return to the Cleveland Clinic to have his
Mitral Valve repaired. He had been feeling pretty well after that surgery up
until a year ago. That was when we noticed his stamina level had decreased
significantly. After a year of tests and trying him on different medications,
his doctor feels that his tricuspid valve is leaking so severely that it must
now be replaced. We will be again traveling to the Cleveland Clinic for that
surgery in the near future.
